5th Asian Schools Chess Championship was successfully concluded on Wednesday, 22nd December 2009 at Ceylon Continental Hotel,, Colombo Sri Lanka. At the award ceremony by welcoming all the delegations of various countries and all the participants Mr. Lakshman Wijesuriya, Secretary of Chess Federation of Sri Lanka mentioned that he is very proud and happy by completing another International Tournament very successfully by the Sri Lankan Federation under this prestigious Hotel. Also he thanked Mr. Custo Abundo, the Vice President of the Asian Chess Federationand all who had given numerous support towards this event. Since we have fortunate to bring lots of International Chess Events to conduct here now our chess youngsters must do hard work and try to get International Master Titles he added. Most of the Individual events won by Indian players.
