The Chess Federation
of Sri Lanka is organizing a comprehensive Online Rapid Chess Championship
Cycle for the first time in Sri Lanka starting from 1st week of June.
This event will be the selection event for the International Online Rapid
Chess Championships this year. With the support of the event all Chess
players may stay at home at this difficult time with supporting to grow
their Chess Strength. The event will be held on the Chess.com flat form
with all the fair play regulations approved by FIDE. The Time Control
will be 15 minutes + 10 second increment for each move played. |

The event is scheduled in 5 stages: | |
A. SL National
Online Novices Division Chess Championship 2021 |
|
Eligibility - Rating less than 1199 and
Unrated for -Open event Rating less than 1099 and Unrated for -Women’s event |
|
1. Western 1 Colombo
District 2. Western 2 Gampaha/Kaluthara District 3. Central Kandy/Nuwaraeliya/Mathale Districts 4. Southern Galle/Mathara/Hambantota Districts 5. North Western Kurunagala/Puttalama Districts 6. Sabaragamuwa Rathnapura/Kegalle/Badulla/Monaragala Districts 7. Northern Eastern, Northern and Uva Provinces |

Only the players residing
in the above District or schooling in the District are allowed to play
in the region in Novices and Major Divisions. |

The Qualification to
higher category is 10 players for the first 20 players 1 player for every
subsequent 5 players in the participants list. |

If there are 50 players in an event 16 players are qualified. | |
B. SL National Online Majors Division
Chess Championships 1.Western 1 2.Western 2 3.Central, Kegalle 4.North Western, Ratnapura 5.Southern 6.Nothern |

Eligibility - Selected players from Novices
and Rating between 1200-1899 for Open event Selected players from Novices and Rating between 1100- 1599 for Women’s event |

The Qualification to Online National Premier is that for the first 20 players in the starting rank list 10 players will qualify and for every subsequent 5 players an additional 1 player will qualify. | |

If there are 50 players in an event 16 players are qualified. | |
C. Online SL National (Premier Division)
Chess Championship 2021 The final Swiss System event of 11 rounds. All qualified from Major Division and players having more than 1900 (Women over 1600) rating are eligible to participate in the event. The first 16 players will be qualified to the Online National Chess Championship 2021 - Finals |

D. Online SL National Chess Championship
2021 - Finals Stage 1 A Round Robin Event of first 16 players of National B Chess Championships 2021 Stage 2 Knocked out Event among first 4 players as Semi Finals and Finals/ Consolation Finals with Two games with playing tie breaks. |

Awards Trophies and Medals will be awarded to the winners in all events and the Championship title for the winner in age group. A total of Rs. 180,000/= will be awarded as the cash awards to National Finals stage II and National Premier Division as given Below: |

The first Events, The SL National (Novices Division CC 2021 – Western I Open (Colombo District) and The SL National (Novices Division CC 2021 – Western II Open (Gampaha & Kaluthara District) Women’s Events will be held on 5th and 6th June 2021 starting from 9.00 a.m. | |
The 2nd events, The SL National (Novices Division CC 2021 – Western I Women (Colombo District) and The SL National (Novices Division CC 2021 – Western II Open (Gampaha & Kaluthara District) Open Events will be held on 12th and 13th June 2021 starting from 9.00 a.m. | |
The other schedules will be published in
the CFSL Website and the FB Page as soon as possible. The 7 events will
be held in 7 consecutive week-ends. Players can use only Laptops or Desktop with a webcam to play the games. In all times of play in progress, players should join in the zoom meeting with the screen and task Manager shared with the tournament arbiters. The Technical Regulations will be sent to the registered players individually. All fare play measures are taken during the event and the games after each round will be sent to the Chess.com and FIDE exports for fare play checkings. If any player found guilty in any form of these checking, he/ she will be banned from all types of Chess for 2 years. |
