Sri Lanka National B and Women's National B Chess Championships 2020

This is to inform you that the most awaited event by the Sri Lankan top players, Sri Lanka National B and Women's National B Chess Championships 2020 will be held on from 6th to 15th March 2020 at Carrom Federation Building, Next to Delkanda Pola, Delkanda, Nugegoda.

All qualified players are requested to register before 5th March 2020.

The IM/ WIMs and players having more than 2000 ratings, girls with more than 1700 ratings are directly qualified to the respective event. The players qualified from the Sri Lanka Major Division/ Women's Major Division Chess Championships 2020 held in all seven centers are eligible to play in the relevant event.

The events is a 10 or 11` round Swiss System events to be played in two week ends. The schedule will be one round each on Fridays starting at 3.30 p.m. and two rounds each on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 9.00 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. An entry Fee Rs. 5,000/= per person is charged. The CFSL registered players will get a 50% discount. Everyone should pay the entry fee before starting the first round. Those who have not registered with CFSL can registered by calling Niroshan of CFSL.

All those who have not full filled the entry requirements in the Major division should complete all payment before registering in this event.

(Note- Cash awards will be shared in case of a tie. No certificates or awards will be given to the players who does not present at the Prize Distribution Ceremony.)

The two reigning National Chess Champions, International Master Harshana Thilakaratne and Women Candidate Master Sayuni Gihansa Jayaweera are qualified directly to the National A Chess Championship 2020. So, the top 13 players from SL National B and Women's National B Chess Championship 2020 will be selected to play in the most prestigious Sri Lanka National Chess Championship 2020. Registration can be done by sending the name, FIDE ID and the way of selection to cfslnew@gmail.com before 12.00 am on 5th March 2020 and late entries are not possible.

We expect to witness exciting Chess in this year since the Chess Olympiad teams are selected by the National Chess Championship finals this year!
