The Chess federation has offered a Rs. 115,000/= cash award with other Trophies and Medals for the winners of the event. The games will be played as Two games each on 25th, 26th May and 1st and 2nd June double rounds and one game each at 4.00 p.m. on 27th, 31st May and 3rd June 2019 at the sa me venue.

The Chess Federation headquarters was ceremonially opened on25th May 2019 for Chess Activities at 392/25, 1/1, Gangodawila, Nugegoda with the 6th Sri Lanka Grand Prix 2019. Mr. Upali Gunasekara, the former Principal of Royal College was the Chief Guest with the presence of Mr. Luxman Wijesuriya, the General Secretary of Commonwealth Chess Association and the Vice President of Asian Chess Federation.
The Chess Federation has a lot of plans to develop the HQ as a training center with other facilities, such as a Library. The most important events will also be played there.
