The National B and the Women's National B Chess Championships are concluded very successfully on Sunday, the 2nd of March 2014 at the National Institute of Sports Science, Colombo 07. On behalf of the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka I congratulate RS Kalugampitiya of Fischer Chess Club and Miss Anuththara Chandrasiri of Girls High School for winning the National B and Women's National B Chess Championships outright.
It was very encouraging to see almost all the top Chess Players playing in these Tournaments. I also congratulate Miss Sachini Ranasinghe for her great performance to select the National A. But unfortunately the CFSL is not in a position to split the National A and Women's National A events due to the tight programme. So she has to decide her choice.
