*Sri Lanka National and Women's National Chess Championships 2012*

On behalf of the Chess Federation of SL, I congratulate all of you for selecting to play the Sri Lanka National and Sri Lanka Women's National Chess Championships, the most prestigious Chess Events in Sri Lanka among 1000s of Chess players in Sri Lanka. It was a great achievement on your side since there was a tough competition in the National B this year.

The events will be held on 23rd, 24th, 25th, 29th, 30th, 31st March and 1st of April 2012 at Auditorium of the Etisalat office, Duplication Road, Bambalapitiya (Near House of Fashion). The 1st round will be started at 9.30 a.m and the evening round will be at 3.30 p.m.on 1st day and the same procedure will be adopted till 31st if there are no changes at the players meeting to be held at 9.00 a.m. on the 23rd. There will be one round on 1st morning starting at 9.30 a.m. followed by the prize distribution at 3.00 p.m.

The 1st 5 players of each of the Championships will qualify for the National Chess Team 2012 which will participate in the Chess Olympiad and other team events. A total of 150,000/- is allocated as cash awards for the National Cycle, National A & B, Women's National A & B to distribute the me way as last years. Rs. 1000/- will be charged as the entry fee. Bulletins will be published as well as the CFSL is trying to make all of you comfortable while playing. But, A strong action will be taken against anyone withdraws since all of you know the result if a player withdraws from a round robin event.
