Sachini First WIM for Sri Lanka
Sachini Ranasinghe finished top in the Asian Zonal 3.2 Women Championship 2011, just now at the Nagarodaya, Colombo 08. She scored a total of 7 points. She was very confident from the start of the event, but gave couple of draws to Dinushki Premanath and WIM Rani Hamid from Bangladesh to finish on the top. The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka will all Chess players in the country congratulate her for this grand success and wish all the very best for her future career.
The Asian Zonal is conducted
by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka from 22nd to 28th March 2011 at Nagarodaya,
Colombo 8, Sri Lanka. Bangladesh, Pakistan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka
are participating in the event . The grandmaster Ziaur Rahman lead the
open event with 7 points out of 8 games.
