| The Sri Lanka National Youth Championship (Final), organized by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka was conducted from the 01st to the 04th of April 2010 at Royal College, Colombo 07. Over 700 players including qualifiers from 12 District and Provincial Tournaments and International Rated players took part. Over 4000 players took part in the District and Provincial Tournaments. Winners of the provincial events also received their awards during the course of the championship. The prize giving was held on the 04 April at the Navarangahalla
under the patronage of the Vice President of the CFSL, Mr. UpaliGunasekara
and the Hon. Secretary Mr. Luxman Wijesuriya. Mr. Wijesuriya noted that
In many sections less fancied players had prevailed over the more established
players who have higher ratings and previous National Representation.
