The Girls high School Chess Team won the Inter Club
Chess Championship convincingly, scoring a total of 27 points out of
possible 30 points. they won all five matches in this 5 round swiss
system tournament which was conducted by the Chess Federation of Sri
Lanka from 5th to 7th February 2010 at Royal College, Colombo.
The outstanding GHS team is Dinushki Premanath, Irindu Basnayake, Navodya
Selvaratnam, Dilshani Ranasinghe, Jeewanthi Ratnayake, Janani Nanayakkara
and Yashmi Lamawansa.
Maliyadeva Balika Vidyalaya emerged runner up with 20 1/2 points and
Ever Winners Chess Club was third with 17 1/2 points.
