Brain Encounter 2009 Chess Championship conducted by the President College, Ragagiriya, Kotte was concluded today after five rounds and the Award Ceremony was held today (2009.03.29) at 5.p.m at the College Main Hall. Mrs Suneetha Wijesuriya, Chess Olympiad Gold Medalist graced the ceremony as their Chief Guest. Mr. Prasad Weerasiri, Principal of President College, Mr. Nalan Somathilake, Prefect of Games, Mrs. Padma Bandaranayake & Mr. S.H.Abeyrathna Teachers in Charge of Chess and Tejan Rathnayake, Chief Arbiter of the tournament were also present at the occasion.

This Brain Encounter 2009 tournament is an under 17 event and the President College Team managed to win the championship. Lalith Athulathmudali College team won the 2nd place and Girls High School Team won the 3rd place. The Girls Championship Trophy won by Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda.
