Important Notice to All Chess Players

The given tournament schedule has to be changed due to two emergency reasons.

1. Government has declared the school vaccation from 1st 20th of April 2010 considering the elections.
2. FIDE has given a deadline for Chess Olympiad entries as 20th May 2010. This was noticed only a week before.

So, the most important events, the National Youth Chess Championships and the National and Women's National Championship Cycles will be changed as given below. The Sri Lanka Open will remain as scheduled.

1. Sri Lanka Open Chess Championship 2010 is from 26th to 30th March 2010 at ICD, Polgolla.

2. Sri Lanka National Youth Finals from 2nd to 5th April 2010.

3. Sri Lanka Major Division and Women's National Qualifying events in Colombo, Kandy, Galle and Kurunegala on 7th, 9th,10th and 11th of April 2010.

4. National and Women's B 2010. 24th to 28th April 2010 in Colombo.

5. National and Women's A Chess Championship 2010 from 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th and 16th of May 2010 in Colombo.

6. Junior National Chess Championships 2010 -will be informed

7. The 3rd IM tournament will also be held in later this year.

Exact venues will be notified later.
