The First FIDE Arbiter Seminar
The first ever FIDE Arbiter Seminar held in Sri Lanka, organized by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka with the support of the Asian Chess Federation and the World Chess Federation, FIDE was held from the 3rd to the 06th of December, at the University of Moratuwa. Mr. Casto Abundo Vice President of the Asian Chess Federation and International Arbiter was the lecturer. 18 hours of lectures and discussions made up the sessions.
23 participants including two representatives from the Maldives Chess Federation took part in the seminar. Out of the 23, 18 participants managed to get the required number of marks at the examination to complete the Seminar successfully and obtain FIDE Arbiter norms.
The successful participants were Pradeep Mataraarachchi, Naditha Amarakoon, Thejan Rathnayake, Sanjaya Chandrarathna ,Verochana Perera, Dayal Siriwardena, Sumal Gihan Perera, Ashroff (Maldives), Ms. Nuzhrath Rahaman (Maldives), Ms. Buddhi Panagoda, D.S. A Dulanga, Sanjula Ravinath, Malith Akalanka, Shelton Wijesuriya, Sanjeewa Anuradha, Lasitha Subash and Marlon de Silva. Photos
