Annual Award Ceremony of the Russian School of Chess (Anatoly Karpov Chess Club) was held recently at the Russian Centre Auditorium. Mr. Andrey M. Nazarkin, Counselor of the Russian Federation and the Director of the Russian Centre in Colombo was the Chief Guest and Woman Fide Master and the Fide Instructor Mrs. Suneetha Wijesuriya was the Guest of Honor at this prestigious event. Mr. Buddhapriya Ramanayake, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian Centre, Mr. Udara Hewagama, Mr. Ushan Samarakoon were also participated. At this 18th Anniversary celebration of the Anatoly Karpov Chess Club, lots of Medals and certificates awarded to young chess champions of various age groups. By welcoming the gathering, Mr. Andrey M. Nazarkin, the Director of the Russian Centre in Colombo admired the island wide work done by the Anatoly Karpov Chess Club under the Chairmanship of Mrs. Suneetha Wijesuriya for last 18 years.
