“LANKA CHESS PUZZLES 5” book launching ceremony was held recently at the Russian Centre Auditorium. Mrs. Anastasia Khokhlova, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation and the Director of the Russian Centre was graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. This program was sponsored by LOLC and Mrs. Kalsha Amarasinghe, Executive Director of LOLC was their Guest of Honour. Dr. Mrs. Nilmini Nanayakkara and Dr. Mrs. Sera De Silva were special Guests at the event. Mr. Susaan Banndara, Chief Marketing Officer also participated at the ceremony. There were nearly 175 participants including Principals, Teachers in-charge of Chess, Chess Coachers, Arbiters, Chess Players and the Parents.

At this ceremony all the participants were enjoyed with Ballet and Music entertainment items presented by the Russian School of Ballet and Music.

This book is Mrs. Wjesuriya’s 6th one and under the series of Puzzle Books 5th. The 1st book that she written “Nawaka Obata Chess Denuma”was very much popularized popular among the Beginners, Newcomers, Chess Instructors and Chess Enthusiasts. With the experienced of 35 years in the chess field as the 10 times Women’s National Chess Champion in Sri Lanka and the World Chess Olympiad Gold Medalist and as the Chess Instructress in various leading schools in Colombo and as the President and the Chief Instructor of the Anatoly Karpov Chess Club of the Russian Centre in Colombo, Mrs. Suneetha published Lanka Chess puzzles book 1,2,3 and 4 books earlier to improve the end game knowledge of chess players.
