An Arbiter Seminar for the Local Arbiters
On
Behalf of the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka, Gampaha District Chess Association
organized an Arbiter Seminar for the Local Arbiters with parallel to the
Buddhi International Chess Championship 2016. Event was held on 01st October
2016 from 09.00 am to 05.00 pm at Apsara Hotel, Nittambuwa.
The
seminar was conducted by the two International Arbiters, IA Erosh Jayasinghe
and IA Thiwanka Tissera. IA Pradeep Matharaarachchi, IA Buddhi Panagoda
& IA Malith Akalanka also there as resource personals. 12 Articles
in Laws of Chess were covered in the first session and 2nd Session was
covered with an interactive session where solving common issues rising
during the chess tournaments.
Total
46 participants were attended for the Seminar from island wide and mostly
from Gampaha District. The narrative of this seminar was to up held the
quality and the make awareness to new comers to this field. With fulfilling
the requirements 06 persons were awarded with DA (District Arbiter) title.
This was a successful event and good effort by Gampaha District Chess
Association and this will contribute some good arbiters for the Sri Lanka
Chess.
