The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka is organizing the 2nd National Blitz team Chess Championships on 14th of October 2008 at Royal College, Colombo 7. This Swiss System Team tournament will be played over 9 rounds. A team should comprise of 4 players and a reserve
The event will be held over 3 Categories:
1. Open Event
2. Under 15 Event
3. Under 12 Event
A total of 10 minutes will be given for a game, giving 05 minutes each side.
Dates and Venue: Tuesday, the 14th October 2008 at Royal College, Colombo 07.
Eligibility: Open to all Chess Clubs and Institutions. All are free to field any number of teams.
Schedule: will be informed when registering.
Prizes: A Rs. 20,500/= cash prize is offered for the open category while winners in all categories are awarded with medals and certificates. There will be a Special Award for the Best team among the teams representing the Mercantile Chess Clubs.
Entry fee: Rs. 600/= per team for the Age Group Events.
Rs. 1000/= per team in Open Category
