44th Chess Olympiad 2022 – Round 04 |
| The fourth round of both women's
and the open category was held on the 1st of August 2022. It started at
03.00 pm. 186 teams were paired for the fourth round of the open section.
In the fourth round, Sri Lanka played against Sierra Leone in the 70th
match. Sri Lanka won the match against Sierra Leone scoring 3.5 points.
K G T S D Kiriella, IM L M S T De Silva & Mohamed Nabil Nazar won
their respective games while FM Isuru Alahakoon drew his game. At the
end of round 4, India 2, Armenia and Israel were first, second and third
in the rankings. Sri Lankan open team is going to play against Tunisia
in the fifth round which is scheduled on the 02nd of August at 3.00 pm. |
| In the women’s section,
159 teams were paired for the fourth round. Sri Lanka played against the
Aruba team in the 57th match. Sri Lanka managed to win the match scoring
3 -1 points. WCM Minethma Lasandi Wickramasinghe, WIM S D Ranasinghe &
H M H Janandandi Abeysinghe won their respective games while WCM G P Y
Wijesuirya lost her game. At the end of round 4, Azerbaijan, Poland and
Ukraine were first, second and third in the rankings. Sri Lankan women's
team is going to play against Ecuador in the fifth round which is scheduled
on the 02nd of August at 3.00 pm. |
