Chess Association was
Successfully conducted at the Auditorium of Colombo Public Library and
there were about 500 winners and the parents were gathered in this main
hall. Dr. Mrs. Mario, the Public Relation Officer of the Russian Embassy
was the Chief Guest and Mrs. Ashoka Lankathilake, Member of the Western
Province Council, Mr. Buddhapriya Ramanayake, Chief Executive Officer
of the Russian Centre, Mr. Luxman Wijesuriya, Secretary of the Common
Wealth Chess Federation and the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka, Major
General Siri Ranaweera, Director of the Defence Services College, Mr.
L.M.D. Dharmasena, Principal of Ananda College, Mr. Pramuditha Wickremasinghe,
Principal of Defence Services College, Mr. N.G. Kariyawasam, Principal
of C.W.W. Kannangara Vidyalaya, Mrs. W.B. Kumudunie, Principal of Rathnavali
Balika Vidyalaya, Mr. Erosh Jayasinghe, International Arbiter, Mr. Sirisena
Kusummullage, Chief Librarian of Colombo – Public Library were
graced the occasion and distributed the prizes as Guests of Honour.
