Chess Championships will be started tomorrow at the same venue, the Polymath
College International, Nawinna, Maharagama. |

Laksith
Randil and Chamil Priyankara are leading with 4.5 points out of five games
in the SL National B Chess Championship while young Dewnethmi Dahampriya
of Visakha Vidyalaya is leading the SL Women’s National B Chess
Championship 2019 with ideal score of 5 points out of five games at the
half way mark. |

Seven
players, Yasantha Jayaweera, Keeth Jayasinghe, MAN Dhanushka, GC Anuruddha,
R. Illampoornan, RKT Dissanayake and KAPM Ariyawansa are closely following
with 4 points each at the SL National B Chess Championship while five
players, Tharushi Niklesha, Amodya Jayathilaka, Ashvini Pavalchandran,
Gihansa Jayaweera, and Sachintha Kodikara are equally having four points
each with 2nd spot in the SL Women’s National Championship. |

Sri
Lanka National B and the Women’s National B Chess Championships
conducted by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka with a total Cash Award
of Rs. 183,000/= is scheduled on 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th and 16th of
June 2019 at Polymath College International, Nawinna, Maharagama. |

Twelve
players from the SL National B will be selected for the Sri Lanka national
A Chess Championship 2019 to play with the reigning National Chess Champion,
Isuru Alahakoon (Sri Lanka Navy) and Harshana Thilakarathne (Maliyadeva
College) , the only player with more than 2400 ELO. Thirteen players from
the Women’s National B Chess Championship will be selected for the
Sri Lanka Women’s National A Chess Championship 2019 to play with
Dinushki Premanath, the reigning Women’s National Chess Champion. |
