The Chief Guest Mr. Ramal Jasinghe, President of Mercantile Chess Association and the Chief Executive Officer of Asian Alliance Insurance PLC, and Dr. Punyadasa Kuruppu the Principal of Isipathana Collge graced this award ceremony.

The Team winner of each age group category (8, 9, 10,11,12,13,14,15,16 & 18 age) received the trophies.

There were two Air Tickets sponsored by by the President of Golden Square International Chess Association for the Overall Championship in Under 12 and Over 12 category. 10 years old Senith Suriyaarachchi of Ananda College and 14 years old Lahiru Munasinghe of Ananda College won the Overall Trophies and they get the opportunity win two Air Tickets to India participating in 8 th Adyar Times Rating Chess Tournament in Chennai India in end of July 2008.

Champions of the Golden Square Team Chess Championship – 2007
